Yes, you read it right. I got a job finally after 6 1/2 months of searching. I thought it was odd when my sister-in-law said, "That didn't take too long!". I suppose in the grand scheme of things or in someone else's life, that really didn't seem like a long time but to me....it seemed like the longest 6 1/2 months of my life. It is a good job with a good salary & benefits. The downside, it's in Kentucky, just over the bridge from downtown Cincinnati. It's a haul from where I live. This is definitely going to take some work adjusting to a commute like this again after being home for the last 6 years. My first week was last week & it left me completely drained, emotionally & physically. I am hoping that this week is better since I got past the first week hump. I currently work 8-5, which is a problem with the commute. I am going to speak with the attorney I work for to see if an adjustment can be made ASAP. I believe I will enjoy this job once I get used to things. I am only off today due to a lack of work at the part-time job I was wrapping up after giving my 2 weeks notice. I welcomed being off today though to get things in order for the week.
I am re-learning how to get things done & prioritizing what really needs to be done & what can wait. Mind you, I have a big graduation party being held at my house in a few week for my 18 yr old. Keeping the house up is a challenge but I am still transitioning. I have realized that everyone in this house is going to have to pitch in to keep things up bc once they get out of hand, it's so difficult to get it reeled back in. I am looking for ideas & suggestions...I am considering making a week's worth of meals on Sundays...although I do not have much freezer space which presents a problem! I did make a bunch of sides on Saturday to help with meals this week. Meats will be done on the grill & I can pull the sides from the fridge....I just feel like there aren't enough hours in the day now!
