Sunday's project~Organizing the linen closet

Again...another one of those things when I should have taken some before shots of the closet, but I didn't bc once I made up my mind to get busy, I just did it!  I went to put towels away & ended up pulling everything out!  Since I have discovered the marvels of couponing, I have a nice stock pile of various personal care items & they were not in the best order.  They now are!  I can find what I need very easily.  More importantly, so can everyone else & I hopefully will not open the linen closet to find a mess of items randomly shoved around in there.  That drives me NUTS!  We'll see how it works!

In the big bin with the blue tag I have toothpaste & mouthwash.  It is  clearly labeled so digging should not be necessary anymore!

Top shelf baskets, large bin holds Bella's nebulizer, tubing & medication for it.  The small basket in the front holds floss & toothbrushes

various soaps

Shaving supplies

First aid items

Today's organizing project....baskets of meds in the kitchen

Is there a way to make THAT look all organized & cute?  I wondered.  I had all the meds in baskets but they were all just shoved into them.  One could never find what one was searching for when one needed it.  So...I cleaned them out finding meds that expired in 2007!  YIKES!  In the end (yes, I truly should have taken before photos but I really hadn't planned on this project today, it become one out of necessity of a house full of sickies!)

Here's what I ended up with:

I labeled them prescriptions/ibuprofen; vitamins & allergy/cold & others.  I have finally made use of those cute little tags I purchased from Stampin Up! 5 years ago! LOL!  Guess what? I am dying to do more!  Next will be the linen closet! (Not today though!)

I love Laura & I love www.orgjunkie.com

I have to say...I love Laura & I love http://www.orgjunkie.com/. Her posts are inspirational & motivating. She also has taught me that I am not alone in being self-professed organizing junkie! Organizing provides me with an incredible sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that few things have provided me. The benefits of being organized seem to be endless.....being organized creates more time (something every mom needs! Aren't we always saying that there are not enough hours in the day?), less clutter (mentally, for me this is huge. I find clutter to be a mental roadblock!), more space, ability to know what you have on hand....and on and on!

I have been plugging along with the 28 day organizing challenge & tackled some of my most problematic areas in my home. Areas that desperately needed to be organized & decluttered! I would have had more to share as far as pictures go but on January 1, I spent the entire day cleaning, decluttering & organizing my kitchen & dining room. Getting the biggest & most cumbersome projects out of the way first is important....I did that. I have been in heaven when I have to be in my kitchen ever since! I can find anything I need out there! I know where it all is! I even have organized "junk" drawers. Everything has a home & can easily be located. I am stickler for it all getting put back where it belongs too!

Working along with the www.orgjunkie.com 28 day organizing challenge....I tackleld several problem areas in my house. I finally decided to part with some products that had been taking up precious space for far too long. I decided to donate any un-opened products to a local mission. I threw out all kinds of miscellaneous things I found lingering in baskets & shoved into tight little spots in the closet. I have tried to keep this closet pretty tidy but the reality was that there was just too many things spread out & too many unused products. Getting rid of those things & organizing what was left provided me with an incredible high! I love, love, love to organize & declutter! I love to purge things! I love how freeing it is! I also love that I now know where everything is in that closet!!!
